Terms of Service

These terms cover use of answerhandai.com and the Answerhand AI receptionist service provided by Lance Rice, doing business as Answerhand AI, Columbia City, Indiana.
The service
Answerhand AI sets up and supports an AI receptionist that can answer calls, answer common questions, take messages, book appointments, transfer calls, and send text summaries, depending on the plan. The AI tells callers it is an AI assistant and that calls may be recorded.
Free trial
Every plan includes a free 14-day trial. Setup fees are charged only if you stay after the trial. During the trial we do a basic setup; the full custom build starts after your first paid bill. Founding members pay no setup fee.
Plans, billing, and minutes
Plans are billed monthly, or yearly when prepaid. Annual prepay (2 months free) is for standard prices only and can't be combined with Founding prices. Each plan includes a set number of minutes per month: Starter 250, Pro 600, and Premium 1,200. Unused minutes do not roll over. Extra minutes are billed at $0.25 per minute. Setup fees apply to Pro ($497) and Premium ($997) unless waived. Custom integrations are quoted separately.
Cancellation
Month-to-month plans can be canceled anytime, with no long-term contract. Give 30 days' notice. If you prepaid a year and cancel, we refund what you paid minus the regular monthly price for each month used, including the 30-day notice month.
Founding member deposit
A founding spot is reserved with a refundable $97 deposit, credited to your first bill. The deposit is refundable anytime until your first paid bill, including if you cancel during the free trial. Ask, and you'll get your refund within 5 business days. If you stay past the trial, the $50 is credited to your first month. Founding members pay $100 per month less than the standard price (Starter $97, Pro $297, Premium $597), pay no setup fee, and keep that price for 24 months starting the day after the free trial ends (billed monthly; annual prepay is for standard prices only), in exchange for a testimonial, a short case study, and permission to share call stats. Founding spots are limited to 20.
Service guarantee
Every call answered, or your month is free. If the AI receptionist fails to answer a call that was forwarded to and reached your Answerhand line, we'll credit that month's monthly service fee. This is a service-level credit, not a guarantee of calls, leads, sales, or other business results. It only covers calls forwarded to your Answerhand line. It doesn't cover calls that never reach us because of a phone carrier or provider outage, or because of call forwarding or setup issues on your end. Spam, robocalls, and callers who hang up before the first ring finishes don't count. You must report the missed call within 7 days with the date and approximate time, and we'll confirm it in our call logs. The credit is that month's service fee only (not setup fees, overage, or lost business), is limited to one credit per month, and can never be more than one month's fee. It doesn't apply during the free trial, and your account must be paid up to date. This credit is your only remedy for a missed call. Your signed service agreement controls if anything here differs.
Your responsibilities
You're responsible for giving us accurate information about your business (hours, prices, services, policies), reviewing your call summaries, and telling us when something needs to change. You agree to follow laws that apply to your business, including call recording and consent laws where your callers are located.
AI limitations
The AI only says what it is set up to say and takes a message when it doesn't know. Even so, it can make mistakes. It is not a substitute for emergency services or professional advice, and other than the service guarantee above, we can't guarantee every call is handled perfectly or that the service is never interrupted. We don't guarantee any specific number of calls, leads, appointments, or sales.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Any service guarantee credit counts toward this limit and does not increase it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana.
Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date above and let active clients know.
